Who is Jonathan Day?
For those of you wondering why we're called "The Jonathan Day Centre" this should answer your query....
In 1986 Jonathan Day, a disabled man from Somerleyton, had the idea for a workshop for the disabled, where they could rebuild their self-esteem and confidence as well as work on projects not only for themselves but for the community at large.
In 1987, after a lot of campaigning, he finally got it started. Since these early beginings S.O.L.D has expanded into the thriving organisation it is today. Sadly Jonathan passed away in 1999 but his legacy lives on in every member who attends S.O.L.D and gets fulfillment from his brainchild.
